Welcome to ACS NSW

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member with Consulting Surveyors NSW. We have designed a membership structure to suit every firm based on the stage of your business. This will allow you to move from one level to another level as your business ebbs and flows. It’s important that we understand more about your firm so that we can provide the right level of support, so please take the time to complete each section. There are a number of options for your membership level and the form is designed to help you make the best decision about the right membership category for your firm.

What’s new at ACS NSW?
One of my first jobs as CEO was to speak with our many members to find out what is important to them and their business. It was a great opportunity to learn about the challenges surveying firms face and how our Association can better serve you and your firm.

The feedback was presented to the ACS NSW Board who have embarked upon a new strategic plan for 2018-2020 to ensure that ACS NSW continues to be the leading voice of the profession through advocacy and research, providing support to our member firms to build strong and thriving business through education, ensuring the future and longevity of the surveying profession. One of our major goals is to provide support and training for member firms to help them prosper. And so we have introduced a new membership structure which aims to improve benefits and be more relevant and effective for every person within your firm.

What has changed?
The revamped membership structure is based on the needs of organisations at different stages of business life. Membership categories are now designed around the needs of the whole organisation, not only the size and structure of a member firm, but the aspirations and future of the firm.

There are 6 membership categories, based on stage of business, and the benefits in each relate directly to the specific needs of the organisations falling within that category.

For example, member firms will be given the opportunity to connect with and learn from other members in their same category. This is because firms of a similar size and structure often experience similar challenges, issues and successes. A selection of ACS NSW events will also be specifically designed to meet the distinctive training needs of organisations within one membership category, as these needs differ from firms in other categories.

Choosing the right membership category for you
The membership form will ask you some important questions about your organisation and the answers will be used to suggest the most relevant new category for you. However, it is completely up to you which category you choose for your firm. Information on each membership category is provided in the form.

Gathering more information to provide better services
To help us provide valuable services, this membership form asks for data and information about the whole of firm. This will help us communicate more effectively, provide targeted training and events and understand the research required to support consulting surveying firms. We will however communicate confidential information with principal director only, such as the results of the Salary Survey.

Where will this information be used?
Some of your company information provided in this form will be included on the ACS NSW website (in the ‘Find a Surveyor’ function) and in the annual ACS NSW Member Firms Book. Only generic company information, including office contact details and services, is used for these purposes. Other information, such as financial data, provided in this form remains confidential.
