NSW Government Health & Stimulus Package

The NSW Government has announced a $2.3 billion stimulus package that will bolster the NSW health system, cuts taxes for businesses that employed tens of thousands of people across the State, and helps secure jobs at this very challenging time.

  • The package includes $700 million dollars towards ensuring we have the capability to manage the COVID-19 pandemic
  • $1.6 billion will be spent providing tax cuts and targeted measures to support jobs including:
    • Waiving payroll tax for businesses with payrolls of up to $10 million until the end of the financial year,
    • Raising the payroll tax threshold limit to $1 million in 2020-21
    • Waiving fees and charges for small businesses and tradespeople.
  • $250 million will be dedicated to employing additional cleaners of public infrastructure
  • $250 million being brought forward for maintenance on public assets including social housing and crown land fencing
  • $500 million being brought forward in capital works and maintenance
