Moving forward with the Jobs of Tomorrow industry partnership

On Wednesday 15 June the NSW Minister for Skills, John Barilaro, met with local school students, teachers and employers in Maitland to announce the 23rd NSW Jobs of Tomorrow industry partnership. This Jobs of Tomorrow program offers students subsidised training in high-level STEM qualifications, including Surveying.

With ACS NSW an industry partner in this program, two ACS NSW members represented the association at this announcement.  Rob Monteath (Director of Monteath and Powys) and David England (Partner - Pulver, Cooper and Blackley) are Maitland locals and attended this announcement to show how important programs like these are for the future of surveying.

As outlined in a quote from Rob Monteith in Minister Barilaro’s media release on the announcement, NSW is facing a shortage of registered surveyors and investing in STEM education and training is critical to ensure the profession can adequately meet this challenge.
