ACS NSW 2016 State Conference

Stephen Halmarick from Colonial First State, along with other key economic professionals, provided fundamental insights into local and global economic conditions during the ACS NSW State Conference on Wednesday 24 August at Parliament House.  These foresights help managers and principals in Surveying firms make strong future plans for their businesses.

The conference offered delegates one-on-one connections to key State Government Ministers, with speakers such as the Hon. Rob Stokes (NSW Planning Minister) and the Hon. John Barlilaro (NSW Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Skills, and Minister for Small Business) highlighting key plans for NSW.

As a result of discussions on the day, the profession will join forces with the Hon. David Elliott MP, Minister for Veterans Affairs, Minister for Corrections and Minister for Emergency Services to assist with the upgrade of the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park. The Surveyor General will work with the profession to develop a partnership between local schools, RSL and local communities to collect soil samples from the home towns of WW1 soldiers for the new Remembrance Wall at the memorial.  This will help to promote surveying amongst school children.

Our sincere thanks goes to the the Hon. Leslie Williams MP (Minister for Early Childhood Education and Member for Port Macquarie), who once again provided invaluable assistance with the co-ordination of the State Conference.
